ExtDisplay Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 September 2026

ExtDisplay is an app that uses your phone or tablet as an extra display for a nearby computer. Operator: rui zhang. Site: extdisplay.link.

What the mobile apps (Android / iOS) use

• Local network and device discovery (e.g. Wi‑Fi / Bonjour / USB), to find a computer running ExtDisplay on the same network or cable.
• Touch input, so you can control the computer from the phone or tablet.
• On-device preferences for connection settings.

Video frames are sent from your computer to the device on the local connection. We do not upload that video to our servers.

What we do not do

• No advertising, no analytics SDKs, no tracking across apps or sites.
• No sale of personal data.
• The Android / iOS receiver apps do not collect personal data for our servers.

Website and licenses

If you buy a desktop license on extdisplay.link, we receive the email address you give at checkout so we can send the key, and we store activation records bound to a device. You can deactivate a device from the app or the site portal.
